National Braiding Museum
Visit the National Braiding Museum in Noordwolde, the weaving village of the Netherlands. Museum De Proefkolonie
Step back 200 years in time and discover the story of Johannes van den Bosch and the first settlers of the Free Colonies of Benevolence. Experience this unique history through a multimedia time journey for young and old. From the museum, visit a replica colony house, the former school, church and the tram depot.
Miramar Sea Museum
Behold the sea at the Miramar Sea Museum in Vledder. The museum began in 1955 with the discovery of a remarkable seashell by the eccentric Jeanne Warners, founder of the museum. Marvel at a unique collection of shells, sea creatures and other natural history objects she gathered during her travels around the world. Kids can enjoy craft activities at the Miramar Sea Lab. In the museum garden you can enjoy the Whale Route. The museum is open again from April.
Villa Rams Woerthe
Step inside Villa Rams Woerthe in Steenwijk, one of the beautiful historic houses of Hendrick de Keyser Monuments. This iconic Art Nouveau villa from 1900 features richly decorated interiors and stunning stained glass. Explore the house freely and enjoy a walk through the surrounding park with its elegant tea pavilion.
Museum Belvédère
Visit Museum Belvédère in the beautiful Oranjewoud, the first museum for modern and contemporary art in Friesland. Here you can discover a collection of artworks by important Frisian painters such as Jan Mankes, Thijs Rinsema, Tames Oud, Gerrit Benner, Boele Bregman, Willem van Althuis, and Sjoerd de Vries. National Prison Museum

Museum Joure
Visit Museum Joure, a surprising makers’ museum at the birthplace of Douwe Egberts. Taste the beginnings of this world-famous coffee brand in De Witte Os, the oldest DE shop. Also discover Frisian clocks in the authentic clockmaker’s workshop, the former metalware factory, and the historic print shop. Children explore the museum with the Young Makers Trail, featuring new challenges each season. During the spring and autumn holidays, you can create something special in the Make Factory.
Drents Museum
Visit the Drents Museum in Assen, where the exhibition Microcosmos – The World in a Wunderkammer is on view, a unique mix of art and curiosities. Or go mammoth hunting in Labyrinthia, admire the paintings of Vincent van Gogh, or paddle a canoe through a prehistoric landscape. Fries Museum
