Fun outings with children

Open again from April 4, 2026! Duinen Zathe – a complete and affordable day full of fun and entertainment for the whole family! Includes a traffic park where children can even earn their own driver’s license! All-inclusive: coffee, tea, lemonade, ice lollies, fries, snacks, sauces, cheese and sausage sandwiches, and fresh daily soup are all included in the entrance fee. Only 300 metres away! Visit De Spokeplas for a fun “day at the beach.” There’s plenty to enjoy: a water pump, swings, climbing bars, and a small playhouse with a slide are spread across the area. You’ll also find several small beaches and sunny meadows — perfect for relaxing. Is the weather not so great? Take a lovely walk around the lake and through the surrounding forest instead.

Want to enjoy a fun day out with the kids? At De Drentse Koe, children can have a great time playing outside — riding pedal tractors and go-karts, playing in the sandbox, bouncing on the inflatable, and much more. Is the weather bad? No problem! There’s a heated play barn with a play arena, construction loft, climbing and sliding tower, and a glow-in-the-dark basement featuring traditional Dutch games and panna football.

The Fairy Tale Trail is a nature and discovery route around the Spoke Lake, designed for children aged approximately 4 to 8 years old. Along the route, you’ll find wooden sculptures with fun tasks. These activities are meant to help children learn about nature in a playful way. To make the walk and the assignments even more enjoyable, you can buy a small bag at the reception of Het Bosmeer. The bag includes the assignments, a magnifying glass, a small mirror, and an identification card for insects and trees. The total length of the trail is 1.5 km.

Go to Wildlands and discover animals from all over the world. In Jungola, take a jungle boat trip along the Rimbula River, where a zookeeper will tell you all about the elephants. In Nortica, experience a 4D ride and explore the polar regions above and below the ice, while a zookeeper tells you everything about the penguins.
